Minnesota Valley Mothers of Multiples (MVMOM) is a non-profit organization that provides support, services, friendship, and more for mothers of twins, triplets quads, and more. Our membership is open to all mothers and expectant mothers of multiples living in Apple Valley, Bloomington, Burnsville, Eagan, Eden Prairie, Inver Grove Heights, Mendota Heights, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Woodbury, and surrounding communities within Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
The organization was established in 1975 by a handful of MoMs (Mothers of Multiples) who understood that it takes more than a village to raise a set of twins, triplets, quads, or quints. In its infancy, the small group gathered with their children in each other’s homes for coffee and good company. Forty years later, MVMOM has grown to nearly 500 diverse members, making it the largest mothers of multiples club in Minnesota.
MVMOM members meet the second Tuesday of each month to socialize, exchange ideas, swap stories, and enjoy an enriching presentation on parenting, family life, and even self-care. The club also hosts summer socials, a spring and holiday banquet, working MoM lunches, play dates, holiday parties, pampering events, and two used clothing and equipment sales.
Members of the club actively meet online, too! Our private, members-only Facebook group and Member Planet forum are a safe, easy, and fast way to get feedback, tips and tricks, and compassion from other MoMs experiencing life with more than one child. If you have a pressing question about sleep, feeding, or a fever at 1 a.m., chances are that another MoM is online and ready to help! Members use these online tools to meet one another, plan outings, and even buy or sell used merchandise.
Minnesota Valley Mothers of Multiples is guided by our board of directors, several committees, and numerous volunteers. Combined with the generosity and nurturing spirit of our member community, MVMOM offers support to member families in need. The donation of meals, preemie clothes, gift cards, fellowship and other assistance is provided by the club and its members.
